The return of the light show, as it’s known in Canela, is one of the city’s main events. The majestic Catedral de Pedra de Canela, one of the main postcards of Serra Gaúcha, is about to shine again. Starting March 8th, the “Luminata” project promises to enchant tourists and locals with new sound and light spectacles. Under the direction of the Canela-based company Ilumina Canela Espetáculos, this experience promises to be unforgettable.
Via Domini – The Paths of the Lord
The debut show, titled “Via Domini – The Paths of the Lord,” will take place during the Easter season. The Cathedral’s facade will come alive with a show of lights and colors, creating a perfect harmony between sound and light. Inspired by the Stations of the Cross, one of the most striking moments in the history of Jesus Christ, the spectacle will transport us back to the time when Christ carried the cross, faced death, and rose again.
An Immersive and Emotional Experience
For 12 minutes, you’ll be enveloped by an original soundtrack that will lead you through the events of the Stations of the Cross. Get ready to be moved and travel back in time; this is undoubtedly one of the free attractions in Canela that draws the most tourists to Serra Gaúcha.
